What is the The British College of Brazil School Experience?

No matter where you are in the world, we can welcome your child into their classroom through our Virtual School Experience. With high-quality resources and creative activities set by their class teacher your child can continue to take their first steps into early years education from home.

The most important aspects for the virtual learning at BCB is ensuring that the principles of excellent teaching and learning remain central to all we do.

This means keeping our lessons engaging, personalising our curriculum to reflect the students interests, concerns and abilities and most importantly of all having teachers who care passionately about their students.

Our virtual learning environment has brought many challenges for teachers, students and their parents, we have all had to learn the technological skills required to deliver and receive the lessons,to develop new ways of interacting with each other and most importantly find ways to preserve the student-teacher relationship

In our virtual Early Years, we offer a broad range of activities and lessons in order to cater for the specific needs and learning styles of each individual child. Children are encouraged to join video calls and access live learning within the whole class or small groups, as well as watching fun interactive videos focused on specific subjects such as phonics, literacy, maths and art. We communicate with parents and families on a daily basis through our assessment platform ‘Tapestry’, where we provide specific feedback related to children’s learning and support for parents at home. We have also created a collection of presentations for parents with the aim to explain some fundamental areas of learning and development such as writing and ‘pre-writing’. Our child-centered ethos remains at the core of what we teach and how we teach and we continue to promote learning through play with daily multisensory, hands-on activities as we know very well that children learn better when they are involved and having fun, whether in our physical school or at home.

What can you expect?

Inspiring lessons from your child’s teacher make every virtual school day an engaging one. Your early years child will:

  • Take part in real-time lessons with their world-class teachers every day using a safe and secure platform
  • Have fun trying new activities online and offline
  • Develop essential skills and nurture curiosity through independent learning and play
  • As parents, you will receive regular updates from your child’s teachers on their progress and achievements.
