Message from the Director General

After the long Easter break, I am happy to see our Collège as lively as ever. Monday April 20th was devoted to a pedagogical cursus which saw our teachers exposed to new methods and educational resources. The day ended with a unique team building exercise around an art theme which gathered all of our teachers, administrative and support staff, in the typical Collège Champittet spirit.

  • Philippe de Korodi, Directeur général

“Culture is what elevates the human mind”, we were told by the famous attorney Me Marc Bonnant during a conference on April 21st. Me Bonnant is one of the most prominent defenders of the beautiful French language. He presided the jury who elected the young Simon (14th grade in French baccalaureate) and who won the rhetoric competition, thanks to his intellectual courage and great ability to improvise.
It is with such refreshing news that we entered the last term of the current academic year. IB students will soon be starting their final exams. Regarding school life and discipline, we are currently insisting on 3 points: punctuality, the uniform and personal attitude. A more comprehensive concept of positive discipline will be implemented as of September.

In addition, as of mid-May, we are setting up an improved framework during the younger pupils’ meals, with a view to improve their perception of food and make them eat….more vegetables and fruit. When it comes to communication, we are now using the good old official display panel for information, a system which has been neglected during the digital wave, and which I trust will prove once again its value in prioritising information.

We welcome you and your friends on May 9th, from 10 am to 4 pm, to our special event “family day – open doors”. Long live Collège Champittet!
