After graduating from High School I was in charge of the infant nursery in the Poder Judicial. Working with those babies is where I found my true vocation and decided to become a preschool teacher.
During my university years at Universidad Latina de CR, I had the opportunity to learn about the Montessori philosophy working at ABC Montessori School. After finishing this training, I became a Montessori guide for kindergarten. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Bilingual PreSchool Education from Universidad Latina de CR, as well as a Master’s Degree in Education from Framingham State College.
In 1998, I joined the Country Day School Early Childhood as a teaching assistant. I later began to develop the Spanish program for Early Childhood. In 2001, I moved into the position of Early Childhood Spanish teacher. In 2005 and 2006, I was the CDS Summer Camp Coordinator as well. CDS has become my second home. I truly believe in the excellent goals we have for our students. I love to see how students learn with hands on experiences and grow in independence.
I am the mother of two children, who both enjoy coming to school at Country Day School each day! Aside from my passion for teaching, I love reading. I still like reading to my daughter because I believe it’s an excellent opportunity for both of us to learn great things and acquire more vocabulary. I also enjoy baking and cooking for my friends; some day when I retire, I would like to have a pastry shop!
