I was born and raised in a suburb outside of Chicago, IL and I am of Mexican descent. Most of my family lives in the Chicago-land area, and another part lives near Guadalajara, Mexico. I graduated from National-Louis University(NLU) in 2005 with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. In 2009 I received my teaching certificate in Bilingual/ESL Education. And in 2011 I received certification in Special Education from NLU. In 2018, I received my TEFL (teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate. I began working as a substitute teacher at CDS in January of 2019 and in August of 2019 I began my role as a Learning Support Teacher for EC.
I love working with young children because they are authentic, energetic and are so excited about life and learning.
In my free time, I enjoy going to the beach, doing yoga, hiking, going to see live bands play and exploring new places in Costa Rica. I also love travelling and I try to visit a new city every chance I get. I am a phenomenal cook and I especially love to cook spicy Mexican food.
