Since I was a little girl I always wanted to be a teacher. When I was in second grade I had a great teacher; she was able to make everyone feel comfortable, loved and secure. I remember wanting to go to her class every day. As soon as I finished high school, I was sure which career I was going to choose. I went to the University of Costa Rica where I got my Bachelor Degree in Preschool Education. After completing my degree, I worked as a Preparatory Assistant for one year.
During that year, I decided to take a time off to be with my new baby. Soon I had two more children and was fortunate to stay home for six years with my family.
When my children started going to school, I returned to work as a kinder teaching assistant at Country Day School in 1996. Soon I was offered a teacher position at the Daycare, where I worked for many years. Later I moved Kinder, and then to Pre-Kinder. Many years have passed and I continue to be in love with education the same way I was when I first started teaching! My children are now all adults; fortunately, two of them inherited the same love for educating. Both of my daughters are working at Country Day School. For me, teaching and spending time with my students is one of the most gratifying and extraordinary experiences.
