Lewis Teeple

PE Teacher

Hi, my name is Lewis Teeple, I’m the Early Childhood PE teacher.
I’m a graduate of Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina, a former college
soccer player and I am enthusiastic about using sports to help children in youth
develop as people, not just as athletes. In 2015, I began my career as youth
soccer coach with Gaston United, in North Carolina and have continued to coach
since then. I have worked for several international sport for development
programs, including a 2015 internship with Futbol Con Corazon in Barranquilla,
Colombia. In 2014, as a volunteer for Partners of the Americas youth exchange
program in Washington D.C. In 2012, as a volunteer for the Beyond Sport
Conference in London. I worked for the YMCA in North Carolina as a youth coach
and as a league referee/coordinator from 2017-2018 before moving to Costa Rica.
I am bilingual and I have grown up in a multi-cultural background, having lived in
the USA, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. I am a sports fanatic
and also enjoy hanging out with my dog. My goal is to help every child develop a
lifelong love of healthy physical activity.
