My educational career began in December of 1989 when I received my Bachelor’s degree in English as a Second Language at the National University of Costa Rica.  I worked for two years at a private school teaching English as a second language.

In 1990 I began working at CDS as a teacher/assistant and later as a preschool teacher.

In 1994 I was fortunate to have the opportunity to teach Spanish as a Second language in North Carolina, U.S.A in a public school. I remained in this position for three years; where I was not only  working as an ESL teacher, also serving as an Ambassador of my own culture.

After studying Early Childhood Education at Universidad Latina de Costa Rica, I began my teaching career in 1995, in a small Montessori school in San José, Costa Rica. I instantly fell in love with Montessori Education, so I trained with the Pan-American Montessori Society in Costa Rica and got my Montessori Certificate in 1997. For the next 12 years, I taught using the Montessori method and later trained and guided teachers in implementing the Montessori Education in different private schools in Costa Rica.

    First Grade Teacher

    Katherine Granados

After I graduated high school in 2009, I was ready to go to the university. Unsure of which career I wanted, I started to study dentistry with the idea of working in the pediatric area. There was only one thing I was very sure about, I wanted to work with children. After almost two years of studying dentistry I decided it was not my path and I took a short break from university. Months after, I made the decision to study English Education for Elementary School and Psychopedagogy. At this same time,  I began to work at a very small school close to my house. I discovered and created my own path.
