Hola! My name is Amie Knott. After receiving my Bachelor of Science in child learning and development from the University of Texas, I worked in a Reggio Emilia style early child care center, teaching three and four-year-olds. There, I enjoyed implementing project-based learning, while developing social-emotional skills and integrating them into the teaching of the whole child.
After that, I took on a drastic change as I began working for the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District in Grapevine, Texas, where I implemented standards-based teaching.
In 2008, My family and I had the opportunity to come back and live in Costa Rica. A very meaningful relocation, as I grew up in Costa Rica and my husband is Costa Rican. Once here, I began working at a bilingual school in Heredia; once again, to experience a completely different teaching style. During this time I also had the opportunity to work as the curriculum coordinator for grades 1-6 in the English Language Development Department.
I enjoy living in the Costa Rican paradise, which I consider to be home. I love to travel, especially to world heritage cities to enjoy the culture and history which I find fascinating! As well as traveling, some of my other hobbies include playing tennis, cooking and jewelry making.
