Country Day School - Catalina Castro

Fourth Grade Teacher

I graduated from the Universidad de Costa Rica as a Special Educator and from Universidad Estatal a Distancia of Adminsitracion Educativa. I have worked in both public and private schools in different grade levels and every particular experience made me the teacher that I am today.

When I was a senior student, I had a wonderful experience tutoring Chemistry to younger students and that made me think of teaching as a career. It took me a while to find the way, but since I am teaching my life is colorful and exciting.

I started working at Country Day School five years ago, three years teaching second grade and two years teaching fourth grade. I strongly believe that a positive, open, and nourishing environment where the social-emotional needs are respected and addressed properly will lead to a very productive learning environment. I love teaching and I cannot picture myself doing something else every day.
