In 1993, I came back to Costa Rica and haven't left the field since then. I have been a student support teacher in different American and international schools in my country, and have had the privilege to open the support services for students with learning needs k-12 in all of them. I have also worked as a. elementary and secondary school principal after I did my Master's in Educational Administration.
Right now, I work at Country Day School as a learning support teacher in Elementary and give support to the other divisions in the area of learning differences, special needs, curricular accommodations, and inclusion of the diverse learners.
My two sons, Samuel and Elias, and my husband Roy give so much meaning to my life. With them, I can go to the stars and beyond. They are the ones who witness how much I love what I do, and how much I value the opportunities life brings to our lives. They come with me to school every day and together we feel that Country Day is our home away from home.
I love traveling, gardening, watching movies with my boys, and spending coffee-time with loved ones (family and friends) whenever it’s possible. My favorite place of all is a beach in Guanacaste, Cabuyal, where I can rest to the sound of the waves breaking into the enormous rocks. Once in a while, a turtle approaches the beach to lay down its eggs inside a security hole in the warm and gorgeous white sand. I will need another lifetime to travel to all the peaceful and exotic places in my beautiful country.
