My name is Adriana Vega. I am a Spanish Teacher and Filóloga. I have a degree in Filología Clásica (Bachelor of Arts), and a Master's degree in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language. I have been teaching for 20 years, and I have worked in CDS for 9 years now. Before that, I was a Part-time Spanish Instructor at Wingate University and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, and a Full-Time Lecturer at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte.
Moved back to Costa Rica in 2011 with my baby boy (at the time), who is 10 years old now. Since then I have worked as a full-time teacher in Country Day, where I teach Intermediate and Advanced Spanish classes, AP Language courses, and Hispanic Literature. I also work editing graduate thesis or educational materials for the Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED).
During my free time I love expending time with my son watching his favorite movies. I love to listen to all kinds of music, dance and work-out. In my personal and professional life I consider myself an advocate of order, respect and discipline. What I love about teaching is the new fresh perspective students give to the class. It doesn't matter how many times you teach a certain subject or book, each class will teach you a whole new way to see it.
