Amy De Jong

Country Day School - Amy De Jong

English Teacher

My name is Amy De Jong and I am happy to be continuing for the third year in the Secondary English Department. I was born in Iowa, the USA in a Dutch farming community.

I will be teaching grades 10 English Language Arts and AP Literature this school year. Previously I have taught Grade 5 PYP in San Diego, CA, Secondary English in the Dominican Republic, IB Language in Beijing, China, and IB Literature in the United Arab Emirates. I look forward to continuing to work in an international community. I started my teaching career in New York City after attending NYU and the desire to teach in a multicultural atmosphere started there. When I'm not teaching or reading I am enjoying various outdoor activities, traveling, playing music, and caring for animals.
