When I was studying education, I had a great opportunity to be trained by one of my university professors to teach Spanish as a second language. I decided to start with this challenge as a new part of my profession-teaching Spanish including the traditions, culture, and places of my beautiful country Costa Rica to foreigners. I also had a wonderful opportunity to work in the USA as a Spanish teacher in North Carolina.
In addition, I worked at the Costa Rica Academy, known today as the American International School, where I taught PK-12 as well as AP Spanish Language and Literature. This experience as an AP teacher gave me the opportunity to be selected by the College Board as a Spanish exam reader.
I’ve enjoyed working for the last 17 years as a Spanish teacher at the Country Day School, Costa Rica.
Other than my work as a teacher, my family is most important in my life. In my free time, I love playing tennis, swimming, going to the beach, as well as traveling with my family and visiting other countries to explore their cultures.
