Our Teaching Base in Thailand
At this stage, we do not know when the authorities in Myanmar will allow school campuses to re-open or grant permission for teachers to re-enter the country. Until that happens, we are establishing a BSY ‘Teaching Base’ at a Nord Anglia school in Thailand, Regents International School Pattaya. By ‘teaching base’, we mean a dedicated space from which all our teachers will operate. There are several practical benefits to our students of this BSY Teaching Base: • We can have our teachers in one time zone, energized and at their best in the coming weeks and months. • They will be able to plan together, as well as collaborate with their colleagues at our sister school. • They will have access to the significant teaching resources that we have available in Thailand. This will bring considerable benefits to your children’s Virtual School Experience. • By locating our Teaching Base in Thailand, we can repatriate our staff to Yangon swiftly and ensure a quick and effective return to teaching on campus when that opportunity arises.
Welcoming your children across our family of schools
Where families are wishing to leave Myanmar on a temporary or permanent basis, we will do all we can to accommodate your children within another Nord Anglia school. There are 73 NAE schools worldwide, including our only boarding school in Southeast Asia, Regents International School Pattaya – the school we are using as the BSY Teaching base. If parents would like their children to make use of the residential facilities at Regents and be close to the BSY teachers until the situation improves within Myanmar, please contact our Director of Admissions & Marketing, Carolyn Bickerton (carolyn.bickerton@britishschoolyangon.org).
