Our art students have worked tirelessly this term to create amazing works of art. Year 7 and year 9 particularly need to be highlighted as they’ve been working on a collaborative creative arts project spanning across art, drama & music.
Year 7 students are busy filming their puppet shows based on a traditional Burmese fable. All students have created puppets and backgrounds for their plays. I am proud how they’ve embraced the challenge and created their own characters for each fable based on Puppeteer artist research and techniques. Please see some examples of the puppets that have been created in 2D & 3D. We can’t wait to share the completed puppet shows with you.
Meanwhile year 9 students have been working with pop art artists for their documentary film. Inspired by a chosen artist students have researched their styles and techniques and media used to create their artworks identified how they can work in a similar Style by practicing the artist's style and copying their piece of work and taking photographs of food that they would like to paint in the artist's style. We are seeing a wide range of student agency in their artist choice preference, and a wide range of developed skills in painting and sculpture. Please see some works in progress from our year nine students.
Across key stages 4 and 5 students are busy with their art mock exams preparation and finalizing their digital portfolios.
