Michael Kay

Michael Kay

Music Teacher

Mr Kay has been teaching Music in schools since 2005 at international locations such as Fiji, Vanuatu, Togo (West Africa) and most recently Shanghai, China in both primary and secondary. With experience in the IB and English National curriculums, he has a broad based and holistic approach to modern music education.

Qualification

Grade 3 and 4 classical guitar, Trinity College of Music

Grade 6 (hons) and 7 clarinet, Trinity College of Music

Certificate in Jazz (Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology)

BA Music (Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University)

About

Mr Kay utilises his experience as a professional musician to enable all students to realise their musical performance experiences in individual and ensemble situations. As a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Mr Kay believes that a complete Music education must be tempered with theoretical knowledge and history as well the use of ICT in this artform.
