  • B.F.A., Drama, Syracuse University – New York, United States

A native New Yorker, Odette is a graduate of Syracuse University with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts (Drama). While pursuing her studies in the theatre, Odette performed in plays and musicals such as “The Visit” by Friedrich Durrenmatt, “The Good Woman of Setzuan” by Bertolt Brecht and “Pippin”. Upon graduating, one of her first roles was as a nurse on the daytime drama “All My Children” as well as performing in a 6-month national tour with TheatreWorks USA’s production of “Reading Rainbow”, based on the popular public television show. Odette also worked in early childhood development as a Gymboree teacher for 4 years before moving to Panama.

During a brief hiatus from the theatre, Odette worked as a quality analyst and supervisor for a telecommunications company here in Panama. She then went on to become an interpreter, assisting organizations abroad communicate with their Spanish-speaking clients. Upon making her theatre debut here at the Theatre Guild of Ancon in 2009, Odette has moved on to be in productions such as "Big River", "La Novicia Rebelde" in the role of the Mother Superior and in this year’s "Hairspray" as Motormouth Maybelle, all under the direction of Bruce Quinn, at Teatro en Circulo. She has also collaborated with director Edwin Cedeño in "Un Violinista Sobre el Tejado" and "El Mago de Oz", for which she was nominated earlier this year for a Premio Escena for her portrayal as The Wicked Witch of the West. She was most recently featured in Disney's "Aida" in Teatro Nacional in the role of Nehebka.
