The expedition will be based in a camp in Arusha and our students will be joined by students from other Nord Anglia Education schools around the world. The main focus of the expedition is to learn about and support local projects which will aid the development of the Arusha region.
Each of the students going must raise at least 700 Euros and students from the participating Nord Anglia Education schools around the world will be using the Global Classroom to share their fundraising ideas.
Students had to submit applications to be considered for the trip, which included questions about what they would find most challenging on the expedition, their current contributions to the school community, ideas for how they would share their experiences after they returned to school and their fundraising ideas.
The 7 successful students whose applications stood out and who will be representing BISS Puxi on the Expedition are:
Katie White, Year 12
Freya Mackenzie, Year 9
Meher Kovoor, Year 9
Serena Migliorati, Year 10
Nathan Camp, Year 12
Chloe Tytherleigh, Year 12
Ra Gyeom Kim, Kelly, Year 10
…and they will be joined by Mr Ross Hill.
Congratulations to them all! You’ll be hearing more from them over the coming months about their preparations for their trip.
“I applied for the trip initially to go to a part of the world I have never been before, and see how it compares to other places I have been. The more I have looked into it the more I realise the depth of the culture and I hope to take a part of that back with me. This week we started having meetings for the trip, all of a sudden it became very real, making it even more exciting!”
