We had a very interesting morning at the museum, where we could put into context all the things we’ve been studying in class. The students have dealt with this traumatic period in history with sensitivity and maturity. It is important to acknowledge the darker moments in history with reflection and to mould young people’s minds into being responsible global citizens that develop a responsibility for creating a world in the future that is better than the past.
The Year 6 students of BISS Puxi will undoubtedly go on to create positive communities and defeat prejudice where they encounter it.
After the museum we made the best of the weather by having a picnic on the north of the Bund looking at the Pudong skyline. Here we sketched the remarkable buildings that are making Shanghai one of the most recognisable cities of the world today and in the future.
A very big thank you to the parents that came along with us, your support is greatly appreciated.
