BISS Puxi Students Star in Soloist Recitals

22 October 2015

Sunday morning was brightened up not only by the shining sun, but by the wonderful performances of our students at the Soloist Recitals.

  • Soloist Recital

This term we had over 60 performers, including the highest number of secondary students ever to perform in these recitals. As always, we had a huge range of performances, from our youngest students in reception to many of our GCSE Music students practicing for their exam recitals.

A highlight during these recitals was the collaboration involved. Not only did we have many students who were accompanied by teachers, but we also had friends and siblings playing alongside students. It was a genuine pleasure to see such teamwork in action and the amount of hard work and practice that had gone into these performances was evident.

We also had a lot of students who had never performed before. There were some nerves floating around Stage 1, however all the performers excelled and overcame their fears to produce memorable performances. As ever the repertoire performed was extremely diverse, from Mozart to One Direction and back again! We also had a performance of one of the 12 Core Works from our new Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts Programme.

Many thanks to all the music teachers and parents who have supported the students in their preparation for the recitals. We hope to see you all again in February for our next round of Soloist’s Recitals.
