Budding Year 3 & 6 Artists exhibit their work to proud parents

03 December 2015

Last week, parents and children from other year groups were given the opportunity to come and view artwork from students in Years 3 & 6.

  • Year 3 and Year 6 Art
  • Year 3 and Year 6 Art
  • Year 3 and Year 6 Art
  • Year 3 and Year 6 Art

Each child had chosen a piece of work that they were particularly proud of from term one.

The Year 3 artwork was linked to their topic this term ‘Paintings, Pictures and Photographs’. During this topic, children were given the opportunity to learn about different artists such as Hockney, Klee and Seurat. They were encouraged to see the world through the eyes of artists and use different mediums such as digital software, paint, chalks and pastels.

The Year 6 artwork was linked to their ‘World War 2’ topic. The children studied WW2 prints by Kathe Kolwitz then recreated their own mixed media lino prints. They also learnt sketching skills and worked with charcoal to draw still life pictures and portraits.

Their artwork looked fantastic and there was a lot of positive feedback from parents and children alike.
