Our Principal Writes

29 April 2015

Time flies by when you are busy and when you are having fun and the speed with which the short first half of term has passed has served to illustrate just how true this is.

There have been lots of exciting experiences, and last week saw no slowing of pace in this respect with the Bronze IA Expedition, Model United Nations, the primary school classical music week and the celebration of William Shakespeare’s birthday . This week has been similarly blessed with activities and events in particular the primary school sports days and rehearsals for the Key Stage 2 production of ‘Charlie and Chocolate Factory’.

At the same time, a lot of the all-important daily challenge and rigour necessary for academic achievement  has continued, with a particular focus on the preparation for and taking of public exams. This week the GCSE Art and Drama practical exams have taken place. Further intense revision has also been undertaken for the IB Diploma and the written IGCSE and GCSE papers which begin next week and which are the culmination of two years of hard work.

The long weekend provides us all with a chance to gather ourselves for the final two months of the school year which promise to be equally busy and full of things to look forward to and relish.

I hope that you have an enjoyable and productive break.

- Kevin Foyle, Principal
