Some of our Year 10 students at their work placements this week.
Venturing into the ‘real world’ Year 10 BISS Puxi Students this week have undertaken work experience at companies related to their interests.
The work experience programme has enabled students to experience a week of full time work and gain insight into what daily life might be like in their chosen profession. This has involved a range of tasks, from students having to make their own way to work via public transport to presenting a project to the company on their last day on the job. Students have also had to work in teams, learn new skills and communicate in a variety of ways to their colleagues for the week. So far, many of the students have acknowledged the scheme as a great way in which to give them inspiration to work towards a specific career path.
The week long programme concludes tomorrow with students set to learn more about the inner specifics of the company they’ve been placed with. Each day this week, students have been documenting their time by writing a journal piece on what they learned that day, and how their experience will prepare them for the following day.
