The ‘Myself and Our School’ project is well underway, with innovative lessons taking place across every subject. In Maths, students have been gathering school related data in order to find out more about their surroundings, whilst in History they have been plotting important moments in their lives on a chronological timeline.
Students have created silhouette collages representing their identity in Art, and have identified connections they may have with countries across the globe in Geography. All in all, Year 7 should be very proud of their first week. Here is what some of our students have to say about their experiences so far:
“I got into school feeling slightly nervous, however my nerves were soon settled when I walked into Miss Reen’s class. It was here we learnt a bit more about ‘Big School’ life.”
“I’m finding it very enjoyable here! The teachers are really funny and you get to know people you are not so used to working with.”
“I didn’t know where the buses were, so I got help! I enjoyed every bit of the day.”
“So far, my biggest challenge has been trying not to laugh at Mr Li when he sings and dances in Mandarin!”
“I found it especially interesting when we talked about the flood in Geography.”
“My biggest challenge this week has been getting to places on time and organising myself, but I know I’ll get used to it!”
Well done Year 7, and keep up the good work!
