Extreme Weather Provides Learning Opportunities for Year 1

26 January 2016

Last week, Year 1 embraced the changing weather in Shanghai and took on the job of reporting the weather and during their Literacy lessons, they even wrote their own weather reports.

  • Year 1 Weather Reports

They learned how to spell the days of the week and have been including North, East, South and West. After writing their weather reports, they then practised their speaking and listening skills by reading aloud and performing their reports at our weather station.

They also used the atlases to find different countries and have found out about their different climates and the type of clothes that they would need to wear when visiting.

Some children helped to film their fantastic reports using the iPads. This activity is also linked to the work they have been doing in Themed Learning.
