Reception Cubs Take a Boat Trip along the Huang Pu River

24 May 2016

On Friday the Reception Cubs went on a Boat Trip along the Huang Pu River. We set off on coaches, with lots of mums and dads as well, all the way to the Bund.

After a short walk to the pier and a photo op in front of the boat we boarded across the gangplank. The drizzly weather didn’t dampen the children’s spirits and with care we ventured on to the top deck where the river breeze made it even more exciting!

The children had a great time spotting The Pearl Tower, The Bottle Opener, the Shanghai Tower and imagining how long it might take to climb to the top! We wondered where all the different boats had come from and where they were going and why. We drew pictures along the way of all the sights we saw.

Our trip sped by and soon we were back at the dock and back on the coaches for the ride back to school. Soon the chatting about what we had seen disappeared as sleepy Cubs, teachers and mums and dads fell asleep!

Once back we had a late picnic lunch and talked about our favourite things from the trip.
