Nursery Visited A Pet Shop

05 December 2017

The children in Nursery Panthers and Foxes have been very interested in pets recently.

To extend the activities we have been doing in class and give the children new and exciting experiences we arranged for the owner of ‘Love Pet’ store to come in with some animals.

Prior to the visit, the children discussed how to behave around the animals. They agreed that they needed to be quiet and careful so that the animals were not scared.

The children were very engaged and excited to see a variety of pets, including a dog, a tarantula, a hamster, a lobster and some turtles. Some of the questions the children asked were, ‘What does the lobster eat?’ ‘What are the lobster’s body parts for?’ ‘What do the animals eat?’ ‘How do you care for the animals?’

After the visit we spoke about always washing our hands after touching animals.

We would like to say a big thank you to Awing, the owner of ‘Love Pet’ at Fashion Mall. It would be lovely if you could visit her pet shop to show the children some more pets that are available there.
