Plants and Insects

19 April 2017

On Monday the Year 1 children excitedly took on the role of Scientists! Their focus was to learn all about the different plants.

They looked very closely at a variety of plants and flowers and studied their different parts. After carrying out some investigations they found out that plants begin life as a seed or bulb and need each of the 5 parts of the plant to grow and survive.

As the sun came out the children then showed off their gardening skills and planted some beautiful plants and flowers. They also learned how to plant a seed and will be eagerly watching to see if they grow.

The children now can’t wait to learn all about some of the different insects and mini-beasts.
