Experimenting with Clay

01 June 2017

Over the past two weeks the children in Year 1 have been very busy experimenting with clay. They have been thinking carefully about different textures and shapes.

They have enjoyed rolling, needing, pushing, squashing and pulling the clay into different shapes. They then used their new skills to create different clay mini-beasts. The most popular mini-beast was the snail! It was great to hear the children remembering the names of the different body parts as they moulded the clay. After the clay was dry, the children had lots of fun carefully painting them.
