This week marks the end of our ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ topic and it acted as an opportune time to share and showcase a selection of the learning that has taken place in our classrooms and in the Da Vinci Centre.
As you will see from the photographs the children had been tasked with creating a grid map. On this map were an assortment of landmarks, animals and even different types of food that the children had discovered on their learning journey this term. The children were tasked with teaching the parents and carers how to move and direct the Beebots across their maps. Each class had a selection of laptops so that the children could share their progress in coding through the Beebot software. There were also some great examples of junk models that had been created in small groups. The models depicted some of the key landmarks that had also been discovered on their travels too.
The Year 1 team would like to pass on their thanks and appreciation to all of those that attended. The team work exceptionally hard to deliver exciting, progressive and fun lessons to the children and we take great pride in sharing with you our classrooms and the children’s work. It really is rewarding being able to watch these confident and happy young children talking and guiding you all through the work that they have completed; and with smiles on their faces. We look forward to welcoming you all to the next event!
