Da Vinci Week in Year 4

This week is Year 4's Da Vinci Week and they are doing lots of exciting and engaging activities based on their topic 'Inventions & Inventors'.

Firstly, the children were challenged to create a Rube Goldberg machine. A Rube Goldberg machine is a group of devices intentionally designed to perform a simple task in an indirect and over-complicated fashion. Often they produce a domino effect, in which each device triggers the next one, and the original goal is achieved; only after many steps. Here is an example of one. Design thinking will certainly be a key learning point!

Following this, the pupils will be creating video autobiographies of their favourite inventors - adding excitement by using Green Screen technology.
