What a super year! The children in Year 2 have all worked so hard and have produced some outstanding pieces of work.  They have all made so much progress and we are extremely proud of them. We would like to say a big thank you to the parents for helping and supporting us throughout the year, it is greatly appreciated.

We wish you all a safe and restful summer holiday wherever you may be and best wishes for the future.

Suggested holiday learning

If you are looking for ways of supporting your child over the summer holidays please look at the list below:

Get your child to write a diary over the summer holidays, record all the places and people you have visited. They can stick in photos, postcards, tickets and money of all the places you go to.
Encourage your child to draw a comic strip of their summer holidays, or of one particular activity that you did over the summer. Try and get them to use speech bubbles in their comic strips.
Another good activity is to get your child to create and write their own postcard to a friend or relative.

For any parents who would like recommendations of good holiday reads this summer, the children have enjoyed books by Roald Dahl, Valerie Thomas (who wrote Winnie the Witch) and Julia Donaldson. Other authors the children may enjoy include Anne Fine and Dick King Smith.
