- Please label all school uniform, snack boxes and water bottle to avoid items getting lost in school. Every child needs to have a water bottle to bring in each day. No glass containers please.

In Literacy, we will be continuing to work on debating, practising using the language involved to make our arguments and reasoning clearer. The teachers will be awarding points for the teams in their class for good debating etiquette as well as for the quality of their arguments. Practising at home is a good way to get a head start!
This week we shall be investigating the puzzle of Bruce, the Grumpy Guard Dog. This will require the children to apply their knowledge and skills with all four operations in the context of money, as they try to work out why Bruce is Grumpy and the cost of special offers of pet food. The focus will be on careful and accurate calculating skills and being able to use inverse operations to check solutions.
This week we will be completing our planning for our expedition to an unknown place! We will be fully equipped to survive in any condition by; tying knots, building miniature and fully sized shelters and navigating our way around a trail using a compass! They will be evaluating them and thinking about ways forward if they were have this opportunity again. The children will also be enjoying designing and making their own bags to carry all of their belongings on their final expedition! Lots of fun exploring!
We will discuss and learn about the range of jobs carried out by people.
Students will continue to create computer coding to create games. Over the rest of this term, classes will work with Lego Wedo on a rotation, to create adventure activities to accompany their stories. They will learn to use sensors and apply skills to create their own models.

De leerlingen van KS2 ronden hun laatste Cito-toetsen af. De resultaten kunt u in de loop van de volgende week verwachten. Naar aanleiding van de Cito-uitslagen plannen wij nog één moment voor oudercontact. Hier kunt u zich voor inschrijven om de resultaten van uw zoon/dochter te bespreken.
We werken verder aan het thema ‘Echte Superhelden’. We lezen in Per Ongeluk(t) en denken verder na over gedragspatroongrafieken en het vertalen van het verhaal in een schoenendoos. Ook werken we aan een folder en een poster voor de ‘K.S.A.’ (de koninklijke superheldenacademie)
Bi(e)bbezoek en Estafette
Denk aan het meenemen van de bi(e)bboeken op maandag (Year 3, 5 en 6) en dinsdag (Year 4). Estafette doen we op maandag (Year 3, 5 en 6) en donderdag (Year 4).

Year 3/ 4 French: Miss Wood
This week we shall be continuing to work on talking and writing about our hobbies and what we enjoy doing in our spare time. By practising the same sentence construction in slightly different formats the children have become familiar with talking about the present and simple future. They have also practised negative phrases. The focus will now be on asking the questions, using the correct forms of address. They will make a short oral presentation to reinforce conversational skills.
Homework: to complete the sentences using both negative and positive statements.
