  • Security - Our new security system is still at the trial stage.  Adults only should use the glass gates to enter and exit the school; children should use the metal gates to the side.  If you are concerned that your child is young and you want to be with them then please accompany them through the metal gates. Thank you for your support.

LITERACY

In Literacy this week the children will be reading a variety of non-fiction texts linked to the theme of villages and settlements. The children will answer questions about the text during their guided reading session  and will be encouraged to share their ideas and contribute to the group discussion. The children will complete activites linked to the texts they read with a focus on retrieving and presenting facts and information. In writing we will be learning about Explanation texts and the differences between these and other non-fiction texts. The children will be identifying the structure and features of Explanation texts and creating posters to show these using their iPads. Our grammar focus for the week will be using causal connectives correctly in preparation for our writing next week.
