Marion Wong

Year 6 Teacher

Marion Wong

BA (Hons), PGCE

Marion studied Graphic Design at Lincoln University. After she graduated, she moved to Carlisle to train professionally as a teacher, completing her PGCE at Lancaster University. Over the years, Marion has taught in both mainstream and international settings in London, Guangzhou, Tokyo and Shanghai. Marion has experience teaching classes from Reception to Year 6. Between 2014-2018, Marion taught Year 1 and Year 5 classes at BISS Puxi and is delighted to be back working at the school again and to being within the wider BISS community.

Marion is a firm believer in lifelong learning. After more than a decade of teaching within the British system, Marion moved to the International Primary Years Programme. Through the Programme, she developed inquiring, thinking and risk-taking attributes in her teaching, which she believes are essential skills for children to develop in the modern world. Marion is committed in promoting student agency for every child, so that they become lifelong, independent learners.

In her spare time, Marion enjoys photography and cooking. She loves spending time with her two dogs and is an active volunteer at a rescue centre for stray animals in Shanghai.
