As an English teacher, James believes that valuing the students’ strengths is a key to how they learn and progress in the classroom. He likes to model to all students where they could aspire to be with a piece of work or understanding of a text, and empower them to find their own personal path to achieving this. He likes to consider his classroom somewhere where each student comes to learn, progress, and enjoy what they do in English. He simply enjoys learning and using what he learns to help others learn too.
Outside of the classroom James plays sports, uses the gym, coaches Gaelic football, and tries to understand what makes people do what they do. He tries to cook – failing more than he succeeds. He goes to concerts whenever he can. He reads. He travels. He is a happy husband of nine years, and an exhausted father to two wonderful children. Once work is done, his life revolves around them and making the most of their time here in this beautiful city. His family inspires him to be everything that they deserve, and more.
