Mathematics Teacher and Head of Year 10
Alexander Kolb
LLB (Hons), PGCE
Alexander graduated from the University of Leicester with degree in Law and later, completed a Mathematics conversion course and Mathematics PGCE at Bath Spa University. He previously worked in the United Kingdom as the Head of Mathematics at a secondary school in Hampshire. Alexander has worked with a huge array of different ability students and is extremely proud of the excellent results his students have achieved.

Mathematics Teacher
Faiz graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2013 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then completed his PGCE in 2015 at the same university. Faiz taught for a number of years at a school in Middlesbrough and joined BISS in 2019.
Head of IB and Mathematics Teacher
Thomas attended the University of Bristol and graduated with a Master's Degree in Mathematics. While attending this university, he also studied French. Thomas’ mathematical studies were broad at first but he later specialised in Pure Mathematics, which was the topic of his dissertation. After university, Thomas graduated from the TeachFirst graduate scheme whose mission is to take high quality graduates and mould them into exceptional leaders in the classroom. This scheme was affiliated with the University of Manchester from which he obtained his PGCE.
Head of Mathematics
Nicholas graduated from Leeds University in 2005 with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Philosophy, specialising in the Philosophy of Science and Pure Mathematics. He began his career working as an auditor for an accountancy firm in London but soon realised his passions lay elsewhere.
Aruna earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education and Master's Degree in Mathematics at university in India. She completed her PGCE at the University of Sunderland in the UK. Aruna taught for eleven years in India before moving to Shanghai in 2008, where she taught in an international school. She believes that students benefits from inquiry-based learning and logical approaches to real world problems.
Aruna practises yoga and meditation to enhance her well-being. Some time ago, she developed a keen interest in cooking a variety of Indian food, especially authentic north Indian cuisine. In her free my time, Aruna likes to read and keep herself updated with the latest trends. She also likes to spend time with her family.
Stephenie studied at Mathematics at The University of South Wales from 2011-2014 and then completed her PGCE in Secondary Mathematics in 2014-2015 at the University of Oxford. Whilst at university, Stephenie spent two summers working as a camp counsellor in Wisconsin, America which led her to become a teacher.
