Mr Paul Holyome Weekly Update 11/12/2015

11 December 2015

Dear parents

I was delighted to see so many of you supporting the Primary sports days this week. The children had a lot of fun and it was pleasing to see the imagination that had been put into designing the sports day challenges and activities.

We continue our evening seminar programme at a pace and last night we hosted a very successful evening on developing age appropriate skills for toddlers. Whilst this is quite a niche sector of the parent market, it was well attended and I hope that those of you attended found it both informative and useful. Our next evening seminar will take place on Thursday 7th January 2016 and will focus on applying to university and studying abroad. Please Click here to register!

I have now had the chance to meet with the senior team of the school and we have discussed your feedback from my breakfast seminar. In January I shall be hosting another breakfast meeting to share with you the responses we have to your suggestions and ideas for improving the school still further. You will receive full details of this event early in the new year.

Today I had the immense pleasure of watching the Year 2 production of ‘The Snowman at Sunset’. Words are unable to adequately describe how fantastic the performance was. The students were confident, well  rehearsed and wowed the audience with their acting and singing. The stage setting was one of the best I have seen yet in my time here at BVIS and clearly a lot of hard work and effort had gone in to producing such a spectacular performance. I would like to thank the students and all the staff for a magical end to the week.

Finally, we have one week left of term and I am already looking forward  to some exciting events to conclude this very successful term. These include secondary prize giving, secondary sports day, primary Christmas parties, BVIS Got Talent and on Friday morning we are planning a very special surprise assembly for the students entitled ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. This promises to be a very memorable performance and if you are able to join us then I’m sure you will not be disappointed.

Please be reminded that the school closes at 11.30 on Friday 18th. School buses will depart immediately after and please ensure that you make appropriate arrangements for your child to be collected at this time.

I wish you all a very relaxing weekend.
