Rosinka Year 3 students spread their wings in our latest production Our Rosinka Year 3 students brought to life a classic animated film in their wonderful production ‘A Bug’s Life’. Our young actors made us believe we were in a magical circus of bugs and insects. 20200219 ISM Y3 Production 00074 5D4A7739_hero

Much like our beloved Heimlich at the end of A Bug's Life, our students all spread their wings and flew into a series of captivating performances, the likes of which ISM has seldom seen before. It was an incredible journey.

We began fresh from the holidays with some auditions that made casting a truly tormenting thought for their teachers  with an astounding number of children impressing. Nevertheless, roles were given out and our students were grinning from antenna to antenna with their prospective parts, in anticipation of what lay ahead.

As we embarked on our journey through our figurative forest of rehearsals and song practising, the children delighted us in jokingly retelling their lines at any possible moment. Whether it was the echoing of a 'YOU SHALL NOT PASS' down the corridors, to the whistling of 'The Ants Go Marching', there was a buzz around the school (and that was not just the grasshoppers).

Following an extremely promising dress rehearsal before their Rosinka peers, following which one student even professed a wish for their own production to be as entertaining, the children’s nerves calmed as they became more aware that they had truly settled into their roles.

Finally, for two performances, all the hard work culminated into a showpiece that brought the classic animated tale that was released almost 25 years ago (making their teachers feel a touch on the old side) on the big screen. One would struggle to distinguish between the film and an incredibly talented group of Year 3 students. Bravo.
