How it works

Our bus will collect your child in the morning and drop them off at home at the end of the day. All buses have adult monitors on board, in addition to certified and medically trained drivers.

The bus monitors are contactable at all times. We also employ a bus coordinator, who is based on our Krylatskoe Campus from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. They can help with any queries.

New parents are also welcome to try our service free of charge for three days.

Collection times are scheduled so that your child arrives on campus by 8:15 am. The average journey time to and from school is between 30-45 minutes. We try to keep the maximum duration less than one hour. To maintain make sure everyone arrives on time, late shows are not collected after a short wait (two minutes maximum).

Buses depart from ISM at 3:45 pm (4:45 pm on after-school activity days). Journey times can vary, but typically take less than one hour. Obviously, more remote residential locations can result in longer journey times.

Our transport partner reserves the right to decline distant residential locations.

Our fleet and drivers

"Bus Charter" LLC serves ISM and many other international schools around Moscow. Our large vehicle fleet (of over 100 buses) ensures a reliable service.

Every "Bus Charter" LLC driver has a class D Russian driving license, a background police check, and is medically checked every morning by a certified physician at "Bus Charter" LLC facilities.

We primarily use an 18-seater Ford Transit, equipped with specialist heating systems, air-conditioning, and seatbelts. We perform regular safety checks and ensure buses are kept in top condition.

Our main bus garage and parking lot are located near ISM. We have backup buses and drivers to ensure the reliability of our service.

Vehicles are insured according to Russian law, and all drivers hold extra liability insurance.

FAQs

  • I would like to start using your school bus service. How can I sign up?

    Please follow the link below and complete the online form. Our representative will contact you shortly, using the contact details you provide.

    Subscription Form

  • I have completed the Subscription Form. When can I start using the school bus service?

    If the service can be provided for your address, you'll be able to start using the bus service approximately two days (for clients living within Moscow proper) or three days (for clients living outside the city) after your application date.

    During busy periods (start of the school year/start of term), waiting times may increase.

    Waiting times may also increase for the following reasons:

    • It takes time to replace the bus (preparing a larger bus for the route due to a lack of available seats).
    • Complicated address or location (requiring additional discussions and approvals).

    When arrangements are in place, the bus coordinator will send an email to the address provided in the Subscription Form with all the necessary information and the start date for using the service.

    Please note: bus fees are payable in advance. Without timely payment the company reserves the right not to start service.

  • Why is it not possible to start using the service on the day of application?

    Due to the specific requirements of Russian legislation regarding transportation services for children, we are unfortunately unable to provide transportation services for children on the day of application.

    As a carrier company, we are obliged to notify the GIBDD (traffic police) of each case of transportation with 8 or more children on board, providing the following details:

    • all details of the trip, including the exact bus route;
    • exact list of passengers (children and adults) with contact details;
    • exact seating plan of passengers on the bus.

    These notifications should be submitted no later than:

    •  24 hours before the trip for routes within Moscow proper;
    • 48 hours before the trip outside the borders of Moscow.

    In case of an officially-confirmed violation of legislation regarding children’s transportation services, the company pays a large fine. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Does my residence address matter to use the school bus service?

    Yes, it does. Our company tries to satisfy requests from all our potential customers. Unfortunately, this is not always possible for the following reasons:

    • the address is too far from the school;
    • there are no other people in your area of residence or in neighbouring areas who use the school bus service;
    • your area of residence is too far from existing main bus routes.

    The following link shows a map of approximate school bus service areas:

    Approximate Service Areas

    For more information about the possibility of including your address in one of the school bus routes, please contact the School Bus Coordinator:

    Email: ism@transportlinkservice.net

    Tel.: +7 (926) 640-55-63 (phone calls or messages via WhatsApp or Telegram)

    Note: we try to build our buses’ routes so that no student’s morning journey from home to school exceeds 1 hour.

  • Can I accompany my child on the bus?

    In accordance with the school’s Bus Transportation Policy, parents are not allowed to travel with students.

    That said, we understand that taking the school bus for the first time can be an anxious experience for a child. Therefore, for younger children taking the school bus for the first time, we make an exception and allow parents to accompany their child on their first school bus trip (subject to seats available on the bus).

    IMPORTANT: If you would like to accompany your child on their first trip, please inform the School Bus Coordinator in advance to make sure there are seats available and to put your name on the passenger list. Unfortunately, without prior arrangement, the Bus Monitor will not be able to allow you to travel on the school bus.

    School Bus Coordinator contact details:

    Email: ism@transportlinkservice.net

    Tel.: +7 (926) 640-55-63 (phone calls or messages via WhatsApp or Telegram)

  • My child lives between two different addresses at different times. Do you provide transfers for the same child from different addresses?

    Yes, provided that both declared addresses can be included in our bus routes.

    Please noteif the organisation of such a transfer involves the use of more than 1 (one) route, a rate of 1.5 will be applied to the calculation of the cost of services. This is because we will have to reserve a seat for one student on 2 different buses.

  • How and under what conditions can I pay for the school bus service

    Please note that bus fees are payable in advance. Without timely payment, the company reserves the right not to start service.

    Payment for the bus service is made either for the Full Year, or per Trimester. It is not possible to pay weekly or monthly.

    Payment options:

    • Payment by bank transfer via invoice;
    • Payment by bank card at School (at the Front Desk at Krylatskoe Upper Campus on any school day from 10:00 to 15:00);
    • Payment in cash at school (at the Front Desk at Krylatskoe Upper Campus on any school day from 10:00 to 15:00). We collect the cash and will deliver you a cash receipt within a few working days.
  • I don’t have a Russian bank account. How can I pay for the bus in this case?

    In this case, please contact the School Bus Coordinator to find an appropriate payment method:

    Email: ism@transportlinkservice.net

    Tel.: +7 (926) 640-55-63 (phone calls or messages via WhatsApp or Telegram)

  • If I move during the school year can you guarantee that services will be provided default title

    Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the provision of services at new addresses in case of moves during the school year.

    This is not always possible for the following reasons:

    • the address is too far from the school;
    • there are no other people in your area of residence or in neighbouring areas who use the school bus service;
    • your area of residence is too far from existing main bus routes.

  • I’m concerned about my child’s safety on the bus. What safety measures does your company take?

    Our company is licensed to offer passenger transportation services.

    Every driver has a Russian Class D driver’s licence and over 3 years of bus driving experience, has passed a police check and undergoes a medical examination with a certified doctor at our company facilities every morning.

    Each school bus is also accompanied by a Bus Monitor, who take regular first aid training and courses on child protection issues.

Frequently Asked Questions about the service

  • I have comments on the service you provide (the condition of the buses, driver’s behaviour, Bus Monitor’s behaviour, etc.). How can I share this information with you?

    We really appreciate the feedback we receive from our clients.

    If you have any comments or concerns about the work of our service or you would like to share your impressions or suggestions with us, please don’t hesitate to use our Feedback Form. We will respond to every enquiry we receive.

  • I don’t receive your emails / your emails go to my spam folder. How can I fix this?

    This can happen because of your email provider’s security policy. Each provider has its own security policy which is regularly updated. If you do not receive our emails, please do the following:

    • please include our email address ism@transportlinkservice.net / or the transporlinkservice.net domain in the list of trusted senders (instructions on how to add an address to the list of trusted senders can be found through by searching "how to add a trusted sender in <name of your email provider <Google, Yahoo, AOL, Yandex, etc.>);
    • check your inbox’s spam folder from time to time.
  • I’ve read the whole Q&A section, but I still have questions. How can I ask them and who should I contact?

    You can always contact a representative of our company at the school (School Bus Coordinator) and ask any questions you have.

    E-mail: ism@transportlinkservice.net

    Tel.: +7 (926) 640-55-63 (phone calls or messages via WhatsApp or Telegram).

  • My child is too hot / cold on the bus. What can we do about this?

    Your child may speak with the accompanying adult on the bus (Bus Monitor) with any question, request or complaint they may have at any time.

    If your child is too hot or too cold on the bus, please ask them to tell the Bus Monitor. The Bus Monitor will pass this to the driver, who will adjust the heating of the bus based on student feedback.

  • My child sometimes has to take large items to school (sports equipment, musical instruments, etc.). Where can these be stored on the bus?

    You or your child can ask the Bus Monitor about where to store large items on the bus.

    Depending on the type of bus, large items can be placed either in a special luggage compartment or on the firstseat row next to the bus driver.

  • My child wants to change their seat on the bus. How can they do this?

    Due to the specific requirements of Russian legislation regarding children's transportation services, each passenger on the bus must sit on a specific seat according to an exact seating plan of passengers on the bus.

    In case of a confirmed violation of this rule, the company pays a large fine.

    In connection with the above, we kindly ask you to contact our Bus Coordinator at School regarding your request to change seats

    After the Coordinator has prepared the appropriate documents, your child will be able to change their seat on the bus, and will be informed of this by the Bus Monitor.

    PLEASE NOTE: Bus Monitors cannot allocate seats on the bus themselves. Children on the bus must sit in strict accordance with the official seating plan.

  • My child wants to listen to music/watch films with friends on the bus. Why does the Bus Monitor not permit this?
    The rules of conduct on the bus (Bus Transportation Policy) are designed to ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers on board. Listening to music or watching movies is permitted only with the use of headphones. Otherwise, it may distract the driver and disturb other passengers on the bus. The Bus Monitor will ask your child to use headphones or stop listening / watching for the duration of the trip.
  • My child wants to travel in different seats and not in one seat all the time. Why doesn’t the Bus monitor allow it?

    Due to the specific requirements of Russian legislation regarding children's transportation services, each passenger on the bus must sit on a specific seat according to an exact seating plan of passengers on the bus. In case of a confirmed violation of this rule, the company pays a large fine.

    PLEASE NOTE: Bus monitors cannot allocate seats on the bus themselves. Children on the bus must sit strictly in accordance with the official seating plan.

  • My child was 5 minutes late for the bus and the bus left. Why is this?

    Every morning our bus teams do their best to ensure all children on every route are collected and safely delivered in School. We understand that different unexpected situations can occur (a child may oversleep, get stuck in the lift, mix up the collection time, etc.) But there are two important factors that we cannot ignore:

    • The comfort of all passengers on the route (we cannot make all passengers wait for one person. A significant delay at one address causes delays along the whole route. This rule becomes even more important in winter, when children are made to wait for the bus in cold weather because the passenger before them is late);

    • Arrival time at school before the start of classes (our bus routes are designed to ensure that our buses arrive at school between 8:00 and 8:15 every morning).

    IMPORTANT: If your child misses the bus because of our fault, please contact the Bus Coordinator at the school

    In this case, the company will reimburse you the cost of an individually-organised transfer.

  • My map shows that the journey from our home to school / from school to home should take much less time than the bus journey time. Why is this?

    The main reasons for this are the following:

    • Route logistics. When designing our routes, we cover addresses in the same area or in areas along the bus route to/from the school. The presence of other addresses on the route, taking into account time for waiting, getting on and off the bus, and approaching the address, significantly affects the duration of the trip;
    • In Maps applications, the average trip time is calculated for private cars. Please note that even a small bus is less easily manoeuvrable than a car.
  • We want to invite a guest who will take the bus from School to our home. How can we arrange this?

    Unfortunately, we are unable to provide this service at the moment. This is primarily due to Russian legislation regarding children's transportation services.

    We are working on possible solutions for such requests, so please follow the updates of this section. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Why did the bus schedule change? Doesn’t it stay the same all year round?

    We always try to consider the interests of our clients and not make changes to their usual schedule where possible. Nevertheless, there are situations that are beyond our control, and we can sometimes be forced to change the established timetable during the school year.

    The reasons for this may be as follows:

    • inclusion of a new address on the bus route. Families of students come and go throughout the school year. If a new family lives at an address in one of the areas covered by your route, their address will be added and this will affect the usual schedule;
    • winter. In winter, weather conditions significantly affect the traffic situation on the city roads. Please be prepared that pick-up times may be moved to an earlier time, and the time of arrival home after school may be later.
    • long-term construction works along the route also force us to make changes to the schedule;
    • due to the families’ departure, sometimes few passengers may remain on a given route. Given the economic aspect of our work, we may be forced to disband your route. In this case, your address will be transferred to another existing route. Of course, this causes changes to the schedule, some of which may be significant.
