Alex Vaughan

MFL Teacher and Head of Year 9
Alex Vaughan - Alex Vaughan

Alex started her teaching career in 2018 in Liverpool before moving to Moscow in 2020. She loves her job as a teacher; every day is different; she can encourage the future generation to achieve their ambitions and she has the privilege of teaching students her passion for languages. Her classes are filled with enthusiasm and her main goal as a teacher is to ensure that every student enjoys learning and feels comfortable challenging themselves.

As a student, Alex saw a power within teaching from her Spanish teacher. It was thanks to him that Alex went onto study French and Spanish at The University of Leeds and then later became a teacher herself. She thinks that being a teacher is the most important job in the world and aspires to be the teacher that inspires her students.

Alex believes that languages are a gateway to success in life and offer so many opportunities to learn more about different people and their culture. She thinks that immersing oneself in new traditions and cultures makes a person more open-minded and accepting in a world that is continuously changing. As Federico Fellini once said: A different language is a different vision of life.

In her free time, Alex enjoys travelling, cooking, reading, boxing, swimming and spending time with friends and family.
