Miss McDuff’s passion for education was sparked when her younger brother was born, leading her to study Child Development at school before pursuing a Diploma in Childcare and Education, followed by a teaching degree. While studying at the University of Brighton, she adopted a creative and curiosity-driven approach to implementing the English National Curriculum. After completing her degree, she secured a position at an outstanding local primary school, where she quickly became an integral part of the community.
Driven by her desire to combine her love of teaching with a passion for travel, Miss McDuff embarked on her international teaching journey, starting in the United Arab Emirates at a truly international school where a strong sense of belonging and celebration of identity were central values. Her next destination was Russia, where she focused on developing students’ oracy skills to enhance language acquisition and applied mindfulness techniques to promote wellbeing. Most recently, she taught in the Dominican Republic, where she conducted research with King's College London on emotions and self-regulation.
Over her diverse career, Miss McDuff has gained extensive experience teaching students from Early Years to Year 5.
Outside of school, Miss McDuff is an adventurer at heart. Whether climbing mountains or exploring oceans, she embraces the great outdoors. She also enjoys immersing herself in fictional worlds and expanding her knowledge of the brain and body through non-fiction reading. She is excited to live in Russia and be part of the exceptional team at ISM. Go Lions!
