Dear Parents,

I am delighted to invite you into school next week for a Coffee Morning. Mr. Webb and myself will be in the library on Wednesday and Thursday morning at 9am, welcoming parents back to school. We hope that this creates a chance for returning families to reconnect and for those who have recently joined BIS, to make new friends. We are following strict guidance on safety, by limiting numbers, ensuring that parents have completed the health declarations and of course checking temperatures. Parents are asked to wear face masks to this event. Ms. Fitzpatrick will also be there to share information about Friends of BIS. Please register for this event her.

Coffee Morning

Friends of BIS is a group that welcomes all parents, at any time, to get involved with a variety of community, cultural and social events. Some highlights from previous years that we are hoping to reintroduce are yoga lessons, parent cooking classes, Vietnamese lessons for parents and our popular uniform upcycling project. Previously, parents have also supported our community partners such as Tam Dao Bear Sanctuary and Hy Vong School and helped in the BIS Garden. Obviously, during the current climate there are some restrictions on how we bring parents together safely, but we are watching this carefully and will be sharing events with you in due course.

Saturday School activities are now available for sign up for students and we are excited to announce a parent fitness class that will run alongside the Saturday sessions for students. Nicholas Prince, a fitness instructor, is running two fitness classes from 9:15 -10:00 and 10:15-11:00. This is available for all parents of BIS. Please click here for more information.

Next Friday, we are celebrating Moon Festival at BIS. All children and staff need to wear Ao Dai to school on this special day. We will be celebrating with an assembly at 8:50 and are inviting parents to join via a live stream on Facebook or YouTube. We hope you can join us online for this special event which will include student performances and a quiz from our Head Girl and Head Boy.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,

Rebecca Carroll
