Empowering educational leaders: King’s College International's master’s degree, a journey to academic excellence - Ryan Manary Kings College

Leading international education at King’s College London

Our innovative Executive Master's in International Education is a part-time programme specifically designed for teachers and staff working in Nord Anglia schools worldwide.

A Journey to Academic Excellence

Mr. Ryan Manary, our IB educator, embarked on a transformative academic and professional path. After years of considering higher education, he decided that the time was right to fulfill his aspirations and enhance his expertise in the field.

Having already obtained two bachelor's degrees in 2011, Mr. Manary's focus was on professional development as an International Baccalaureate (IB) educator. Throughout the years, he diligently completed six IB professional development courses, acquiring valuable knowledge and skills. However, the opportunity to pursue a Master's degree in International Education arose at a crucial juncture. This coincided with his transition to a leadership role at the MET.

The program of choice was offered by King's College London and facilitated through distance learning, demanding dedication and self-discipline. Engaging in weekly readings, forum discussions, and virtual classes formed the backbone of this intellectually stimulating experience. Despite the physical distance, he established meaningful connections with both peers and professors. He engaged in passionate discussions about best practices and leadership approaches in international schools and education. This exposure broadened his perspectives and nurtured his personal and professional growth.

King's College London's academic rigor encouraged him to explore new frontiers in international education. The topics explored during the program profoundly impacted his work as an educator and administrator at the MET. Notably, the program's emphasis on leadership and service learning struck a chord with him. He chose to center his dissertation around these topics, delving into research and applying their findings directly to their practice.

Mr. Manary stated: “I am elated that Angel pushed me to celebrate our accomplishments together. We met our professors and classmates from all over Nord Anglia. I am truly grateful to Nord Anglia Education for the opportunity to pursue this growth opportunity. Completing the Master's in International Education at King's College London prepared me for international education. I also honed my leadership skills to enhance my role as a Middle Years Program Curriculum Coordinator at the MET”.
