Graduations are always meaningful celebrations, marking both the end of Secondary school and the beginning of a new phase of adulthood and independence. During the ceremony, the act of moving one’s tassel from one side to the other is symbolic of this important transition in a young person’s life.

The graduating cohort is an amazing group of young people, their dedication and perseverance have been impressive, during times that have been challenging. As a school community, we couldn't be prouder of them for being such a cohesive group who have supported each other through the significant challenges to the continuity of their education and the rigors of study for the IB programme. They have made great role models for our younger students, regularly visiting the lower grades, and always displaying the core values of our school.

The students started the graduation weekend at school on Friday with an intimate toga ceremony with their parents as guests of honor. This gave our Seniors the opportunity to thank their parents and teachers for their support and share with their peers their hopes and dreams for the future. We closed out the day with a MET tradition - our whole school Senior Walk. Our Seniors dressed in their togas and walked the halls of the MET with all students congratulating them in the hallways. It was a wonderful way to inspire their younger peers and come together as a school to celebrate our graduates on their pathways to future success and beyond

The Graduation Ceremony was held at the Panama Convention Center in Amador, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. This celebration of our students accomplishments included remarks from a representative of the Ministry of Education, moving speeches from our Valedictorian, Salutatorian and Class speakers, musical performances from several of our talented 11th grade students, and an emotional student-made video highlighting the many wonderful moments and memories they have shared during their time at the MET. Following the ceremony that was also live streamed to our international family members who were unable to join us on the day, families gathered in the atrium and on the terrace overlooking Panama’s Bridge of the Americas for photos, congratulatory hugs from friends, family, and teachers and a champagne toast from our Secondary Principal

As they embark on their next chapter, we wish the MET Class of 2023 all the best in their future adventures, and we welcome them to our alumni family! Check out the graduation video below: Congratulations MET Graduates 2023 🎓
