At Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong, our Sixth Form offers students a range of academic pathways, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, A Level courses, and BTEC qualifications.
Our BTEC programmes provide an applied, coursework-based route for students who learn best through real-world contexts. Developed by Pearson (Edexcel), they are internationally recognised qualifications that support progression to university, apprenticeships and future careers.
These courses combine academic understanding with practical application, helping students build confidence, independence and a clear understanding of how their learning connects to real industries.
BTEC qualifications are designed for students who thrive when learning is connected to real-world contexts and practical application.
Rather than focusing on final examinations, students develop understanding through a series of structured coursework assignments that reflect industry-related scenarios. This approach encourages independent learning, critical thinking and a deeper understanding of subject content.
Teaching is delivered by experienced subject specialists who provide clear structure and guidance, supporting students to develop both confidence and independence throughout the course.
All BTEC International Level 3 qualifications are assessed through coursework rather than final examinations.
Students complete a series of assignments across each unit and are awarded grades of Pass, Merit or Distinction, depending on overall performance.
For each unit, depending on a student’s grade they are awarded a specific number of points. As points are tabulated overall qualification grades are established, with the highest grade being a D* equivalent to an A* in A Levels.
