Early Years Campus Weekly Update 12 Oct 2026

Dear Parents,
It has been another wonderful week of learning, collaboration, and community spirit across our Sai Kung campus.
Box of Hope Launch
Last week, we officially launched our Box of Hope Initiative across the campus. We were delighted to welcome three Year 12 students from our Sixth Form Centre in Hung Hom, who led a highly engaging assembly for our children.
Our youngest learners were completely engrossed throughout the presentation. They listened attentively, enthusiastically answered questions, and were eager to share their own ideas about helping others. Most importantly, they were incredibly excited to begin creating their own Box of Hope.

The Box of Hope initiative is a wonderful example of children helping children. It reminds us that small acts of kindness can make a significant difference in the lives of others. Running across all four of our campuses, this initiative provides an opportunity for our students to participate in meaningful charitable action together as one school community.
Over the next four weeks, children are invited to create and bring in their own Box of Hope. We were thrilled to receive our very first box today! Boxes can be brought into school until 9th November, with all donations being collected on 11th November.
Social Impact Squad: Little Changemakers
Talking about making an impact, our Social Impact Squad: Little Changemakers met for the very first time last week.
The response from children was overwhelming, with so many eager to take part that we have divided the club into 3 group sessions to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to participate.
Being part of the Social Impact Squad is a fantastic way for children to begin thinking about how they can help others, care for the environment, and contribute positively to their community. Inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), the club provides fun, child-led opportunities for children to understand that even the smallest actions can create meaningful change.
The club has been carefully designed to honour children's right to play while encouraging collaboration, participation, decision-making, and social action. I look forward to sharing news of the exciting Thursday lunchtime adventures that our children will experience over the coming weeks.
Parent Literacy Workshop
Thank you to all the parents who attended our Literacy Workshop last Friday.

It was a pleasure to discuss the many ways we support children's literacy development across the school and to share the range of approaches we use to help every child become successful readers and writers. Our next parent workshop will be led by Mrs. Mertz on World Children's Day, 20th November. The session will focus on children's rights, social impact, and how we can continue to build an inclusive and supportive community in which every child feels valued, respected and heard. Further details will be shared soon.
