Celebrating Seussical the Musical

Returning to school after a long weekend, we are reminded that a ‘rest and reset’ can be timely, particularly when we have just had another great week at school, in this case, topped off with Seussical!

We were delighted to celebrate the spectacular success of Seussical the Musical, a splendid showcase of the outstanding drama and music work that took place in our KS2 Drama ECA. The children shone both on stage and behind the scenes, demonstrating confidence, commitment and creativity throughout the performance. From the vibrant set and imaginative props to the seamless teamwork backstage, every detail reflected the hard work and dedication of all involved.

Parents and staff alike were in awe of the way the children embraced the challenge, stepping into the spotlight with bravery and enthusiasm. Through drama and music, the performing arts provided these children with a powerful platform to be seen, heard and expressive. The experience nurtured confidence, collaboration and resilience, encouraging children to take risks, try something new and believe in their own potential.

The commitment shown by the cast was remarkable, with children attending regular rehearsals, including a Saturday session, and sacrificing breaks, all while supporting one another with kindness, respect and compassion. Beyond the school gates, our parents support for the cast was critically important; not only were they helping with line rehearsals many gave up their weekend for the cast run through. This production truly brought our school values and learner ambitions to life.

Our sincere thanks go to the Performing Arts Team, Ms. Vevers and Ms. Martin, alongside our School Art, Facilities, IT Teams and Student Drama, Art and Computing Leaders for providing such a meaningful opportunity and for being inspiring role models. Seussical was a celebration of creativity and community!
