Sixth Form Centre Weekly Update 24 Aug 2026 - Sixth Form Centre Weekly Update 24 Aug 2026

Dear Parents,

It has been brilliant to welcome our Year 12 and Year 13 students to the Sixth Form Centre at Hung Hom over the last week. At our induction day event, I spoke about the transformative impact that this beautiful new environment can have on students’ Sixth Form journey. It has been rewarding to see how the new campus has already started to inspire and shape a dynamic, exciting and respectful atmosphere amongst the students. From collaborative working groups seeking new ways to solve science problems to students designing pupil-led societies to discuss politics and computer science: the Sixth Form Centre is already developing a palpable sense of purpose and academic enquiry. I look forward to welcoming parents to the Sixth Form Centre very soon to visit the campus and witness the Sixth Form Centre’s positive impact first-hand.

A few highlights of the first week have included:

IGCSE Results

Year 12 students received their IGCSE results on Tuesday and Thursday last week. Having analysed the results in detail, I would like to extend my congratulations to each and every student on a very impressive set of results. There were outstanding performances across all subjects and I look forward to continuing to celebrate the success of this cohort over the weeks to come.

Sixth Form Pathways

Following the release of the IGCSE results last week, every Year 12 student has been met with by a member of the Sixth Form Team. These meetings are to ensure that students’ subject choices and pathway choices enable them to achieve their full potential and their desired university outcomes. We wish all Year 12 students a very successful start to their Sixth Form studies across the IB, A-Level and BTEC pathways.

Higher Education
This week saw the launch of our new Higher Education Curriculum. Every student in Year 12 and Year 13 now has a dedicated Higher Education Lesson on their timetable each week. This new strategic initiative is complemented by 1-1 support that each student will receive for their university applications from the Sixth Form Team. We look forward to working with all pupils on their Higher Education applications over the coming weeks.

It has been a privilege to spend a first week together with students at the Sixth Form Centre. I am truly excited to work alongside students, parents and colleagues over the coming weeks to support our community of young people to thrive.

Best regards,

James Roscoe
Deputy Head of Sixth Form
