ASG Hong Kong Youth Badminton Elite Cup 2026 – Season 3

Dear Parents,

We are pleased to share an exciting opportunity for students to participate in the ASG Hong Kong Youth Badminton Elite Cup 2026 (Season 3), which will be hosted at our Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong, Kwun Tong Campus during the Christmas holiday period.

Event Details

Date: 25 - 28 December 2026 (Friday to Monday)
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Venue: Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong (Kwun Tong), 19 Yuet Wah Street
Eligibility: Boys and girls born in 2010 or later (8 age divisions from Mini Stars to Opens)
Format: Round-robin group stage followed by knockout rounds (single-set matches)

Early Bird Registration

An Early Bird rate of HKD $398 per player is available until 30 November 2026. After this date, the standard registration fee will be HKD $468 per player.

Sports & PE Updates

There’s lots happening across PE and Sport over the coming weeks, with new opportunities for students to get involved, compete and take on leadership roles.

Hong Kong Youth ASG Badminton Elite Cup 2026
NAIS Hong Kong will host the Hong Kong Youth ASG Badminton Elite Cup 2026 at our Kwun Tong campus from 25th–28th December 2026. The competition is open to boys and girls born in 2010 or later, with eight age divisions from Mini Stars through to Opens. Matches will take place from 10.00am–6.00pm each day, with a round-robin group stage followed by knockout rounds. Early-bird entry is HKD 398 per player until 30th November, after which the standard fee is HKD 468.

Nord Anglia Global Sports Challenge 2026
The Nord Anglia Global Sports Challenge launches on Monday 21st September. Students can contribute through walking, running, swimming, cycling, scootering, hiking and more, with every mile counting towards the challenge. The initiative encourages health and wellbeing, builds community and teamwork, and supports positive global impact.

PE Curriculum Leader Interviews

Interviews for our PE Curriculum Leaders will take place from 21st–23rd September. This is an opportunity for students to take a more active role in PE and Sport, developing their leadership skills while helping to inspire, promote and support others across the school.

U11 Swimming Gala: NAIS Hong Kong vs Shrewsbury Hong Kong

Our U11 swimmers will compete against Shrewsbury Hong Kong on Friday 9th October 2026. It will be a fantastic opportunity for our young swimmers to represent NAIS Hong Kong, compete as a team and enjoy an afternoon of sport, friendship and team spirit.

U14 Boys Football

The NAIS Knights U14 Boys suffered a disappointing defeat to Malvern College despite a promising start. The Knights began brightly, creating chances through fast passing and direct movement, and took a deserved 0-1 lead. However, Malvern hit back twice before halftime, capitalising on lapses in concentration and poor defending from the Knights.

Both sides traded goal-scoring opportunities early in the second half, with the game evenly poised. Yet Malvern soon shifted gears, putting the Knights to the sword by scoring four unanswered goals to put the match beyond reach. It was a tough game and a tough result for the Knights, who showed real fight throughout. Despite the final scoreline, the result didn't reflect the effort, commitment, and quality the boys displayed in large spells of the contest.

The NAIS HK U14 Boys secured an emphatic 9-3 win over YMCA at Kings Park in their second game of the week. The bigger pitch offered freedom to roam, and the Knights knew an early statement was needed to press for a top four playoff spot. They responded brilliantly, surging to a 4-0 lead inside ten minutes.

Arguably the goal of the season so far came from Kris, who picked up the ball in his defensive half, drove forward, exchanged passes with the midfield, collected the ball on the right, cut inside, and curled a world-class finish with his weaker left foot into the top corner. World class!

As the game wore on, player rotations gave everyone opportunities to impact the match. Sihoon was again among the scorers with five goals in the 9-3 win. This result should give the team real confidence going into the later rounds of the competition.

U14 Girls Football

A battling performance at Sun-soaked Malvern College was the order of the day when the U14 girls travelled away in their second game of the season.

Controlling the game from almost the 1st minute the team were in the ascendency for the entire half. Kaia scoring inside the first 10 minutes was hopefully the sign of more goals to come. Despite their best efforts and a fine performance from the opposing goalkeeper, the score remained 1-1 at half time.

The second half turned in favour of the hosts in terms of possession and territory, but our team continued to work hard in the afternoon heat. Emma pulled off one of the saves of the season in a one and one situation to deny their attacker but could do little to stop them equalising a few minutes later. When in attack the team did test the home goalkeeper a few times but unfortunately didn’t trouble the scoreboard.

A final score of 1-1 was a fair reflection on balance and is a testament to the true grit shown by the team in testing conditions and not having many substitutes to call upon. Well played girls!

U16 Girls Volleyball

On Wednesday 16th September, our U16 girls showed real resilience, determination, and courage in two closely fought matches. The team started Match 1 against AIS slightly slowly, but once they settled into the game, their confidence and momentum grew. The sets were tense and tightly contested, and the girls fought brilliantly to the end, narrowly losing 25–23 in the first set and 27–26 in the second.

In Match 2 against RCHK, the girls again put in a strong start and stayed focused and motivated, dropping the first set 25–23. In the second set they faced a challenge and, despite their effort, lost focus for a short period—RCHK capitalised to build a lead they couldn’t quite claw back, finishing 25–14.

Throughout both matches, the grit and commitment of the team was clear. A special well done to Chloe, Roni, and Angie for their hard work and dedication—Angie’s fearless dives across the court definitely helped bring extra points our way. Overall, it was an excellent display of effort and belief, and the team can be proud of the way they kept fighting right to the final whistle.

U16 Boys Volleyball

The U16 Boys Volleyball team entered today’s matches with a positive mindset. However, the first game did not go as planned, and we noticed a decline in the team’s confidence and mentality as the match progressed. They struggled to gain a foothold in the game, and despite their efforts, ultimately lost 2–0.

The second match showed much more promise, with the team displaying greater determination and resilience. They competed with more intensity and put up a stronger fight, but unfortunately their improved performance came a little too late. The opposition managed to edge both sets, resulting in another 2–0 defeat for the Knights U16 Boys Volleyball team.

Despite the results, the team showed encouraging signs of growth in the second match and will look to build on that resilience moving forward.

NAIS HK Knights Sports Team Trials

Trials for our U12 and U14 NAIS HK Knights sports teams will take place at lunchtime from 28th–30th September and 7th October.

Students interested in representing the school in netball, badminton or volleyball are encouraged to sign up and take part.

Trial schedule:

All trials will take place during lunchtime, so students should bring a packed lunch on their trial day.

Students should sign up at the PE Office to register their interest and attendance. We look forward to seeing our Knights get involved and represent NAIS HK!

FOBISIA Swimming Trials

Our FOBISIA Swimming Trials will take place on Tuesday 22nd September, from 3.15pm–4.45pm, at the school swimming pool.

Trials are for registered students only who have already signed up for the competition. Students should bring their swim kit, swim hat and goggles with them on the day and come directly to the swimming pool at 3.15pm, so that trials can begin as promptly as possible.
